Holiday fun for the whole family

Family & Kids – a family holiday in the Hall-Wattens region

The Reschenhof is a great holiday destination for all the family. It is not just adults who are catered for here, there are also activities for children here in the winter too. Below are tips for activities in the region, which kids really enjoy.

Skiing on the Glungezer

The well-structured ski area on the Glungezer is great for fun on the pistes with all the family. Superbly tended natural snow slopes, surrounded by unspoilt natural surroundings, and the dreamy view to the summits of the Nordkette and across the Inntal are what make the panoramic ski area of the Glungezer so popular. Traditional inns and a cosy restaurant also tempt you in for refreshments. Plenty of sunshine and powder snow mean young and old alike get to have lots of fun doing sports and in the natural surroundings. From this season there is hassle-free transport for kids with the magic carpet.

Tobogganing

The natural toboggan runs in the Hall-Wattens region meander their way down the mountain and a few of them are perfect for enjoying tobogganing with the kids.

  • Volders
The fantastically tended and safe toboggan run on the Volderberg provides ideal conditions for families. Walking time around 1 hour
  • Gnadenwald
The first few metres altitude of the toboggan rum meanders its way through the forest, followed by longer straight sections, broken up by bends. Up high the forest becomes lighter and the superb views to the Inntal and Gnadenwald help make the ascent seem shorter. The gradients are child-friendly. Walking time around 45 minutes
  • Toboggan inn on the Runstboden – Absam
Plenty of bends and variety – never especially steep – the ideal technical terrain features for enjoyable tobogganing for young and old alike. Walking time 30 to 40 minutes.

Horse-drown sleigh rides

Horse-drawn sleigh rides are an impressive experience for all the family. There is probably no other way which is more lovely or more leisurely, to discover the natural surroundings. Wrapped up in cosy warm blankets, horses take you through the dark forests and over the snow-covered pastures. Children’s eyes light up when they get to sit beside the driver and get to see the horses up close.

'Klumper' fun

‘Klumpern’ is a very special way of coming down a mountain. In the winter months every guest can look forward to having a go at ‘Klumpern’. Those of you who are interested can give it a go every Thursday from 8 p.m. on the flood lit ski practice areas on the Glungezer. It is amazing how quickly you can learn how to ‘Klumpern’. A fee practice runs and you are then well qualified to give racing ago afterwards at 9 p.m. The lovely thing about this is that you don’t have to be a top-class athlete. Children, parents and even grandparents can speed down the easy slope and show off what they have learned on the race slalom slope. There are little wooden ‘klumper’ for participants in each class, along with a certificate to take way with you as a memento.
